I am the third of five children born to a pastor and a school teacher. Our family moved several times during my childhood. I ended up graduating from Oak Gove H.S. in Fargo, ND. I then attended Moorhead State University graduating with a degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice. I worked for four years in law enforcement before receiving a calling to become a pastor.
I attended Luther Northwestern Seminary in St. Paul. I was ordained in 1995 and accepted my first call to a congregation in Wisconsin. I have also served congregations in Pipestone and Little Falls, MN.
I have been married to my wife, Kate, for 31 years and have been blessed by her partnership in ministry in each of the congregations I have served. We have three wonderful children: our oldest son Kaj, our daughter, Annika, and our youngest son, Haakon. All three have been very active in the congregations we have served, growing in their faith and sharing their gifts.
I am looking forward to serving as your next pastor as Stavanger Lutheran Church. Our God is One who open doors for ministry and I am blessed by this opportunity to be in His service!
